Hoonah and Funter Bay. We spent the night at Funter Bay, Admiralty Island, prior to visiting Hoonah. Hoonah is the largest Tlingit town in Alaska.
Maritime trivia: this horizontal lattice is a "grid". At high tide, one floats the vessel over the grid and ties to the dock. At low tide, the vessel rests on the grid and repairs/maintenance can be performed. When the next high tide arrives, the vessel can be floated off. Hoonah tides are 23 feet!
