Chapin to Petersburg: Leaving Chapin Bay, we were moving by 6:30 AM.

The mouth of Chapin as we were leaving. The land at left is hooked back around to the left, creating a small bight, and we stayed behind the hook, well protected from the weather outside.

Sunrise over Fredrick Sound. One must skirt the rocks off the headland at left. Note the tiny crescent moon, still in the sky as sun rises. We'll be in new moon in a week.

Lovely. Wings ghosts along in the sunrise toward our Fredrick Sound crossing.

We had been followed by gulls that, we imagined, thought that we should provide treats for their acrobatics. Alas, for them no treats, but for us a nice photo of the gull as it wheeled a few feet astern of us.
