Tapuamu and Rhum to Bora Bora

After a night in Apu Bay and its pearl farm, we motored in the lagoon to Tapuamu, home of PariPari rhum. We lucked into the only remaining mooring in Tapuamu! We motored to the Pari Pari distillery, into town, then departed the next morning. That requried taht we leave the safethy of the lagoon and venture into the Wild Pacific.

Lovely Conni and Lindsey pose before the Pari Pari Disillery sign.

Unlike years past, we must sample the entire Pari Pari selection at a nearby floating bar. Here, Conni and Lindsey conspire on what to order.

This is the sampler of rhum from Pari Pari, each different and delicious.

Two versions of tapenade with green and black olives. Delicious!

A competitor to Pari Pari nearby also gave us a nice tour. Note the tiny size of their still!

We've moved to Bora Bora, as you no doubt see. We rented a car to travle around the island, a complete trip about an hour. We're just entering the WW2 gun emplacements but I stopped to snap this wonderful photo. What a view!

These are "only" 7-in guns, but at this elevation, have a huge range. Alas, only two remain.

This is the second gun, pointing to long-gone enemies.

After departing the guns, we found food at KiKi's. This is the road view.

Lovely Conni digs into her MahiMahi burger with fresh coconut milk.

Our last stop of the day was a cocktail at the Internationa Hotel in Bora Bora. Lindsey enjoyed her cocktail, as did we all.
