We Return to Raiatea and Trip's End We returned to Raiatea and the Carenage via Apu Bay. We've had a wonderful trip, one of our best, and it's time to put Wings to bed for the season. From a gorgeous Apu Bay sunset, a large cruise ship makes its way to the nearest reef pass. We're in the slip at the Carenage. This is what a cruising sailboat, a monohull, looks like. The keel bottom and prop are still in the water: nice view. She's out of the water and Sailing Season 2025 is officially over. I had to lighten this photo, but you can see the cradle in which she sits. She's out of the water and in the air, here. It's easy to see the size of this TraveLift. Conni's already at work, taking down and stowing everything that can be damaged by nine months of intense UV adn rain. These two old guys make us laugh everytime that we see them! They're locals and live on nearby boats. The walk the Carenage seveal times a day, watching everthing, walking with hands behind their backs. We've always called them "The Inspectors". This is the Carenage office building, as well as the busy grounds around it. They splashed this trimaran that day, and the crew is trying to re-install a dagger board. The guy leaning against the mast and watching is an Inspector! Lovely Conni is preparing our lunchs in the bungalow kitchen. It's large and airy since there are no doors!
