Day 1 at Fare, Huahine

Fare is the main village on Huahine, and Huahine is a mere 25 nm from Raiatea.  We arrived yesterday, had a nice evening, and awakened this morning to a day of chores.  Huahine is one of our favorite islands, and it's easy to see why.

One always asks permission for a photo, and she agreed.  This is Hinamoe, the young woman who's been assigned to move  boats in Dominque's absence.

This is Wings in the new TraveLift slings.

This wreck is an old ferry that used to run among various islands, but has long since ceased to be useful.  For reasons that I don't understand, Dominque left this eyesore and navigational hazard just behind the launch/lift slip where everyone must avoid it's rusty sides.  Departing in a breeze is not made easier by avoiding this POS.

And...Wings is a boat again!

I mentioned in the blog that the bilge hose had been chewed to bits by colliding with the propeller shaft coupling.  Here's the result. Note the number of stainless ste4el wires that were shredded.

This is a fine view of a neighboring boat, German we think.  There are 2 couples here, enjoying a few beers together.

Sundown from Fare on Huahine.  Beautifuil.

Lovely Conni enjoying a cocktail.

Bill, enjoying a sundowner.
