Fare to Avea Bay

After several days of good weather and restful time aboard, we took our last trip ashore and then pulled the hook.  In two hours, we had motored inside the Huahine lagoon from Fare to Avea Bay.  There are a few photos here of Fare, and a few from Avea.

On our last trip ashore in Fare, we tried to buy a baguette in the market, only to discover that we had missed the morning availability and were out of luck.  Here, lovely Conni makes her way through Monday morning rush hour to the market.

Aremiti 5, which you've seen before, is exchanging departing passengers and cargo for those going aboard.

We're at Relais Mahana, the lovely resort at Avea Bay at the southeast end of the island.  We found an unused mooring very near the resort and at the appropriate time, motored to the resort for sundowners. This is the place which offers these slivers of coconut as a small appetizer.  At right is a Pina Colada, and at left is a ChiChi.  Fresh fruit juice makes all the difference.

We owe so much to this boat that it's appropriate to add her photo to the site.  This is Wings, of course, lying to her mooring at sunset.  The "peacock" chair is at the resort.  There's another catamaran behind Wings.

My birthday breakfast was this lovely omelet of eggs, tomato, ham, and onion.  It was a suitable celebratory start for the day.
