Last Day on Bora Bora

We've been here for 8 days and plan to depart tomorrow morning and return to Raiatea, although we won't pull Wings from the water until 12 September.  We rented to bicycles today and added those shots to a few others.

This is very high-end pearl store that has a lot of product on sale.  We think we're looking at Covid damage.

This is the Aloe Cafe, a favorite of ours.  They offer food and drink, but more importantly, decent Internet!

Conni stands in line to choose a baguette at Chin Lee's.

Cocktails aboard, with Rose wine in gift wine glasses.

Conni adjusts her position to get OUT of the sun.  At day's end, we've had enough.  Our Bora Bora skyline is behind, of course.

We tried to take a timed photo, but Wings swings past the mountain too fast.  Here's the BEST attempt!

An action shot!  As I was riding, I snapped this of Conni ahead. It shows the scenery through which we were riding.

Lush foliage bordered the road.

Another action shot as we broke from the bushes and reached shore.

We think that this is a possible holiday shot.  We need to crop a bit, but the background is spectacular.

We sat out a rain squall under this beach-side structure.

This shot is with a telephoto lens, so it's the surf beating on the reef a few miles away.  And that, my friends, is why we depart tomorrow!

This is resort with "bungalows" out over the water:  hey, we have one of those!  I thought that the water colors were spectacular.

This is another lovely resort on a motu, just showing the beautiful colors of the water.

Lovely Conni takes a cycling break to enjoy the scenery.

We've patronized this small restaurant for many years.  They serve hand-made, wood-fired pizza and great Hinano beer.

The restaurant was decorated with these woven palm decorations.  Our server said that the entire set had been made in 30 minutes!

Another photograph of the beautiful beaches here, and more of that gorgeous water.

The same beach in the opposite direction is still beautiful.

The beautiful and unique Bora Bora skyline.

The same mountains but from a slightly closer location.

The mayor's office in downtown Viatape.

Returned from the bike ride and DRY, so we stopped at the Aloe Cafe for an Orangina.

These two young ladies were fascinated by the bubble gum machine.  After inserting money, the gum ball rolled down a spiral ramp.  They await their prize.

This is our trusty dinghy and our very trusty Mercury outboard, awaiting our return.  It's a nice view of the Viatape harbor.
