Wings During Coronavirus As we do each year, Conni and I will return to our much-loved Wings as she lies in her cradle at the Raiatea Carenage on the island of Raiatea, French Polynesia. As I write this, with Coronavirus inhibiting travel, we plan to be in-country by mid-July. It should be MUCH cooler by then. We have a suite of new B&G electronics to install in addition to our usual boat preparation to complete. We'll be very busy! If we can find boat bottom paint, we'll apply a coat or two, and perhaps varnish the cap rails. I've also got a port-side chock to re-install. To follow on our successful but frustrating engine replacement, we'll try to have our mechanic complete a check-up and install a few other parts that we had to postpone because of time. We plan on visiting the small, pocket lagoons on the southwest side of Raiatea, visit Huahine, and Bora Bora. We missed Bora Bora last year and would like to see the island again. A new engine and new electronics will reduce maintenance and enhance our sailing and motoring time, so we should be able to enjoy some relaxed visiting time.
